Biography: Chris Phillimore, Managing Director
Chris has worked for 15 years in Construction, Managing a variety of new build and conversion sites. He trained initially as an Architect and undertook a Management Diploma in 2001/2. His responsibilities have ranged through specification, purchasing, construction Management and budgetary planning and control.
He has a detailed knowledge of Planning and Construction practices, particularly in the area of Utilities and Civil Engineering. He is very keen on managing the environmental impact of building and has adopted advanced techniques where appropriate and cost effective.
In the past he has been a volunteer on both the Bluebell and Welshpool and Llanfair Railways. Between 1994 and 1997 he was a Director of the South West Main Line Steam Company, which provides facilities for Steam Locomotives working on Network Rail in Southern England. He has retained involvement in the railway world and is a steam loco Driver on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in North Devon.
Chris has a range of skills which compliment his interest in railways which he believes would be of great benefit to any individual or organisation intending to run or actually in the process of running a railway.
